Overview
Kick off your trip in San Francisco, where you can wander the many eclectic neighborhoods before picking up your RV. Head to the town of Napa, where you’ll experience word-renowned wine tasting. Continue to the northern end of Napa Valley to Calistoga and St. Helena, where you can wander the charming downtown streets and pedal through vineyards from tasting to tasting. Continue west to Sonoma County, and taste your way through Healdsburg and Dry Creek Valley. Drive out to the coast for a little break in your wine tasting and rest on the beaches of Bodega Bay. Continue inland to Petaluma, a town known as the “Egg Capital of the World”, but also popular for its food, wine, and beer scene. Once you’ve tasted all you can, return to San Francisco to drop off your RV and fly home.
Napa & Sonoma Wine Country Suggested RV Itinerary
San Francisco - 1 night
You’ll be welcomed to California by the City by the Bay with the infamous fog and popular destinations like Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Lombard Street and Telegraph Hill.
Napa - 2 nights
Begin in the most popular area of wine country. Wander the downtown streets and the Oxbow Public Market before hitting the tasting rooms in the southern area of Napa Valley. You can also opt to explore nearby Sonoma.
St. Helena / Calistoga - 2 nights
Discover the north end of Napa Valley for a bit of a different vibe. Rent a bike and pedal to your next tastings through vineyards and fields of wildflowers.
Healdsburg - 2 nights
Located in Sonoma County, just one valley west of Napa, you’ll find a locals favorite area for wine tasting in Dry Creek Valley, home to orchards, lush views, and of course, wineries.
Bodega Bay - 1 night
Take a rest on the beaches of this coastal town. Eat some local crab, take a hike along the shoreline, and watch for whales while you take in the stunning views.
Petaluma - 1 night
Spend your last night in the eclectic town known for its food, wine, and beer scene. Take a hike in Helen Putnam Park or browse the many antique shops downtown.
When you’ve tasted all you can, return to San Francisco, drop off your RV and head home.
