Badlands National Park RV Vacation
About Badlands National Park, South Dakota
With a name like Badlands, you may be wondering why you should visit this national park. The native Lakota call this landscape “mako sica” meaning “land bad” because of the harsh desert that is hot, dry and exposed. Although this land may not be the most fertile, the colorful, jagged rocks, steep canyons and towering spires are enchanting. It is also one of the world’s most fossil-rich land, where skeletons of three-toed horses and saber-toothed cats have been found. If you’re looking for some different, this rugged landscape is not to be missed. We promise you’ll find the good in the Badlands!
